Millner Heritage Vineyard and Winery
Open: Year Round
The Millner family name comes from Franz Müllner (pictured left) who came from Neuhaus, Bohemia around 1880, which at that time, was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Franz’s wife Annastazia came with the children, Matt in particular, 2 years later in 1882. Later, Matt (pictured right) married a German, Theresea Gruber. Soon enough Matt and his brother-in-laws were making wine, whiskey, and many other spirits to which we have good stories of during the prohibition era.
Every generation since then has taken part in this family tradition, and it was decided in 2005 that we would take this family tradition to commercial scale. Ironically, Jon’s wife Annamaria grew up in Tiszauyvaros Hungary, not too far from either Eger or Tokay. She used to work at a vineyard and winery in Baden- Wurttemburg Germany and also in a vineyard in Iowa where Jon and Anna had met.
We had the best time during our tasting and tour of the vineyards! Great staff and wonderful local wines! Used a Groupon for some extra goodies and left with a case of wine at 30% off.
Our experience was great. The staff was so polite and very good at explaining each wine we tasted. We purchased wine and have been very happy with what we bought. It will be one winery that we WILL visit again.
Great experience! samples of their lovely choices of wines served by a a very knowledgeable server. And a very informative tour of the wine making facilities.
Went there for a wedding. It was a nice place. I was kind of surprised that they stayed open to the public on one side while the wedding was going on.
Great wine, great venue and Jon & Don and everyone does a great job.
