Crosslake - Whistling Wolf Mini Golf and Dark Moon Mega Mini Golf

35878 County Road 3

Dark Moon Mega Mini Golf is the newest addition to the Whistling Wolf Mini Golf Complex in Crosslake.  Dark Moon stands out as one of the premier mini golf courses in the country for its size and unique design.  It is definitely the most challenging mini golf course in the entire Brainerd Lakes Area.

“I wanted to build a Mini Golf that gave people the feel that they were on a real golf course,” stated Mike Stone, course architect. “The first thing that strikes you when you see the course for the first time is the sheer size of the holes.  These are among the largest mini golf holes in the world. The holes range from 50 to 140 feet in length.”
Each of the nine holes has 3 pin positions, so there are actually three unique 9 hole courses within the new addition.  Combined with the existing 18 hole Whistling Wolf Course, the facility now offers 45 holes, making it largest mini golf complex in Minnesota and one of the largest in the country.
Multiple waterfalls, large ponds, and enormous boulders dominate the landscape.  Players will have to negotiate severe breaks, undulating terrain, bunkers, rough, and water hazards to have a successful round.
“I think every hole out here is a signature hole, both in terms of aesthetics and strategy needed to play the hole.  It was designed for the passionate mini golfer, you need to play it to fully appreciate it!”
Hit your final shot into the "Outhouse" or "Feed the Monkey" and win a free game.  Our gift shop features a unique blend of home decor, clothing, souvenirs, candles, stuffed animals, and other fun stuff for kids.  Take a picture with our 6 foot tall wolf.  A great place to have a birthday party.

They have 2 courses: an 18 hole standard course, and a 9 hole challenge course. The standard course is plenty shaded from the sun, with cute fish themed greens. The challenge course has little "hills", "sand traps", and "roughs" on the greens. There are ponds and streams through both courses for water traps, too. Both courses were very fun! Afterward, we went to the little ice cream shop up the street. 😊

Kids had fun, 2 different courses. Front 18 has short easy holes, very young child friendly, nice themes. Back 9 has long complicated holes with varying difficulty for each, good for adults and older kids. Kids liked the new Candy Den.

We go here every year. Great course for the kids and it does not cost an arm and a leg.
