Owned and operated by Jim & Bev Whorton since 1985, Chub Lake Tree Farm is located in Northeast Minnesota just outside Carlton, about 15 miles west of Duluth. This location assures the trees are exposed to many nights of freezing temperatures prior to harvest. That is how Mother Nature "hardens off" trees, preparing for better color and needle retention after harvest.
The trees on our "Choose & Cut Farm" are given careful attention. Each year we TAG THE CHOICE TREES we want harvested, in a variety of sizes from six to ten foot, in order to both offer quality selections and insure available trees in future years.
We continue to offer fresh, precut trees in our sale barn as well as beautiful handmade balsam Christmas wreaths. Baling services for trees and assistance with loading will be available on weekends. After finding your special tree, enjoy free cookies and a cup of hot cider.
